In response to MakerBot removing legal objects it finds offensive and Gizmodo misrepresenting what’s out there, I’m starting GUNNIEverse.
This is being thrown together by a guy with little time or technical knowledge, so bear with me. I am a firearms enthusiast, NRA Certified Instructor, and aspiring geek. I am not a lawyer, ITAR specialist, or Federal Firearms License holder. I am also in no way associated with Thingiverse or MakerBot Industries.
I’ll post as many designs here as people send me. I’m working out the details on user submissions, but for right now you can either email me (admin at this domain dot com) or post in the forum (which I’m also learning).
One thing I am worried about is running afoul of the Undetectable Firearms Act, so for now…no designs that include a barrel, please. The bit about “in view of advances in state-of-the-art developments in weapons detection technology” makes me think that 25 years later we’re probably okay with just a metal barrel, but again I’m no lawyer.
